The Secret History of the American Empire: The Truth About Economic Hit Men, Jackals, and How to Change the World The Secret History of the American Empire

New York Times bestseller

From the author of the phenomenal New York Times bestseller, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, comes an exposé of international corruption, and an inspired plan to turn the tide for future generations.

With a presidential election around the corner, questions of America's military buildup, environmental impact, and foreign policy are on everyone's mind. Former Economic Hit Man John Perkins goes behind the scenes of the current geopolitical crisis and offers bold solutions to our most pressing problems. Drawing on interviews with other EHMs, jackals, CIA operatives, reporters, businessmen, and activists, Perkins reveals the secret history of events that have created the current American Empire, including:

  • • How the defeats in Vietnam and Iraq have benefited big business
  • • The role of Israel as Fortress America in the Middle East
  • • Tragic repercussions of the IMF's Asian Economic Collapse
  • • The current Latin American revolution and its lessons for democracy
  • • U.S. blunders in Tibet, Congo, Lebanon, and Venezuela

From the U.S. military in Iraq to infrastructure development in Indonesia, from Peace Corps volunteers in Africa to jackals in Venezuela, Perkins exposes a conspiracy of corruption that has fueled instability and anti-Americanism around the globe, with consequences reflected in our daily headlines. Having raised the alarm, Perkins passionately addresses how Americans can work to create a more peaceful and stable world for future generations.

The Makers Of War The Makers Of War

The Makers Of War The Makers Of War

FOREWORD

Many times since the summer of 1945, when I finished writing The Tragedy of Europe, my American and British friends have asked me to give them, in short compass, my ideas about the economic and political disturbances which caused the nations to destroy Europe. This was no easy task for a man of my age, because my mind was so full of the long history of the troubles that it was difficult to select the chief features of the terrible drama and give adequate account of them in brief space.

In putting together this synopsis of the political and diplomatic factors of each crisis, I have selected matter overlooked by many academic historians. Moreover, with some of the writers who treat of the First World War and the consequences of the Treaty of Versailles, I notice a tendency to ignore many underlying causes that contributed to the strife. Difficult as it is to stand aloof and forget one's nationality and loyalty to a government or its chief minister, this must be done if the student is to form a clear idea about the causes of wars. In future, the investigator in this branch of the art of historical literature must conduct his work in a manner as cold blooded as that of a biochemist in his laboratory. National prejudices and party loyalties ought to have no place in the task that has to be done. Indeed, it will be necessary for the students (and I think chiefly of them) to pursue the line of inquiry laid down by Lord Acton in his Inaugural Lecture at Cambridge University. The fact is the dominant of research, and the student must not be afraid of tracing it to its lair. This was finished in February, 1950, before anyone dreamed of a war in Korea. What has taken place in the world since Hitler invaded Poland is not within its compass. The volume is brought to a close with the end of diplomatic negotiations in September, 1939- It is intentionally provocative and, as a London publisher says, a forceful work. The purpose of the author is to rouse students out of their nationalistic attitude to these wars and, if they be interested in the matter at all, to force them to a deeper investigation of the events surveyed in this book, so that they may learn for themselves the influences and directions of men behind the scenes who instigate the crises that force governments to choose war rather than the humiliation of confessing they have blundered.

Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance

Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance Hegemony or Survival

"Reading Chomsky today is sobering and instructive . . . He is a global phenomenon . . . perhaps the most widely read voice on foreign policy on the planet." -The New York Times Book Review

An immediate national bestseller, Hegemony or Survival demonstrates how, for more than half a century the United States has been pursuing a grand imperial strategy with the aim of staking out the globe. Our leaders have shown themselves willing-as in the Cuban missile crisis-to follow the dream of dominance no matter how high the risks. World-renowned intellectual Noam Chomsky investigates how we came to this perilous moment and why our rulers are willing to jeopardize the future of our species.

With the striking logic that is his trademark, Chomsky tracks the U.S. government's aggressive pursuit of "full spectrum dominance" and vividly lays out how the most recent manifestations of the politics of global control-from unilateralism to the dismantling of international agreements to state terrorism-cohere in a drive for hegemony that ultimately threatens our existence. Lucidly written, thoroughly documented, and featuring a new afterword by the author, Hegemony or Survival is a definitive statement from one of today's most influential thinkers.

About the Author

Noam Chomsky is the author of numerous bestselling political works, including Hegemony or Survival, Failed States, Imperial Ambitions and What We Say Goes. A professor of linguistics and philosophy at MIT, he is widely credited with having revolutionized modern linguistics. He lives outside Boston, Massachusetts.

The History of the Kings of Britain The History of the Kings of Britain

The History of the Kings of Britain The History of the Kings of Britain (Penguin Classics)

Completed in 1136, this classic chronicle traces the story of the realm from its supposed foundation by Brutus to the coming of the Saxons some two thousand years later. Vividly portraying legendary and semi-legendary figures such as Lear, Cymbeline, Merlin the magician, and the most famous of all British heroes, King Arthur, it is as much myth as it is history, and its veracity was questioned by other medieval writers. But Geoffrey of Monmouth’s powerful evocation of illustrious men and deeds captured the imagination of subsequent generations, and his influence can be traced through the works of Malory, Shakespeare, Dryden, and Tennyson.

Lewis Thorpe’s translation from the Latin brings us an accurate and enthralling version of Geoffrey’s remarkable narrative. His introduction discusses in depth the aims of the author and his possible sources, and describes the impact of this work on British literature.

About the Author

Geoffrey of Monmouth was a Welsh cleric and British historiographer who lived during the twelfth century. He is best known for his chronicle The History of the Kings of Britain, which, though now considered historically unreliable, was widely popular in its day and is cited as an important work of national myth.

Lewis Thorpe was professor of French at Nottingham University from 1958 to 1977 and president of the British Branch of the International Arthurian Society. He published many books and articles on Arthur, both on the French and English traditions. He died in 1977.

First published in 1971, Rules for Radicals is Saul Alinsky's impassioned counsel to young radicals on how to effect constructive social change and know “the difference between being a realistic radical and being a rhetorical one.” Written in the midst of radical political developments whose direction Alinsky was one of the first to question, this volume exhibits his style at its best. Like Thomas Paine before him, Alinsky was able to combine, both in his person and his writing, the intensity of political engagement with an absolute insistence on rational political discourse and adherence to the American democratic tradition.

"I am much bounden to your majesty"
[Shakespeare]

WHENCE & WITHER

From whence have we come, and whither do we go, 'tis hard to decipher, at least so we are told. Is the pence needed to earn an honest living, as truly necessary as said by many?

Hither here and hither there, we spend most of our time, we know not where. We are too busy chasing our tail, to try to understand from whence we hail. So let us move on with our tale, to see if we can finally prevail.

The Gordian Knot
The Gordian Knot
The Gordian Knot

Our journey has traveled from North to South, and from East to West; bound round the compass of 360 degrees, a dozen angles of similar decree are found with another 36 that agree; the 4 squared angles do also say, 'tis the way a point becomes a circle bound round, the passive to active and all that goes round.

It is hard to know where we are bound if we know not from whence we abound. Around and around some say we go, until we complete the squared circle round. Twelve numbers on the clock are to be found, along with twelve Apostles and the like numbered signs in the heavens above; the thrice times twelve round out the sound; thus all is bound.

The sound of the silence, the twinkling of the stars, nearer to these our essence found. The worship of Mars is a symbol of old, which hinders our progress, so we are told. Do not succumb to the limits of false idols, as we are born to be ultimately free. Find the way and stay the course, to go far astray is much the worse. Realize the words as above so below, so teaches the dyad within its bounds.

The Twelve Points of the Zodiac

Then come the triads, four in all; next the three tetrads formed as squares; followed by the three tetrads made out of crosses. But from whence came the monad – the unmoved mover? From chaos bound? Or the sameness found within the undifferentiated unbound?

Movement, force, inertia and gravity, the this and the that – all denote change, which difference is time – the measurement of change. Some say:

The beginning of the Universe or manifestation of nature began with the exteriorization of the dyad, representative of the two forces of nature – Ying and Yang. This is the basis for dualism or the pairs of opposites by which all of nature is composed.

As such, the present cycle of nature has a beginning and an end: the start of creation or evolution or out-breathing, and the end of this cycle of nature by involution or by the inbreathing.

This process in the East has been referred to as a Day and a Night of Brahma; and in the West as evolution and involution. The second law of thermodynamics of mass entropy is the means by which western science explains how involution takes place. The same was in the Vedas 2000 years before Christ.

The Endless Knot
The Endless Knot
The Endless Knot

Eventually, which means according to the limits set by time, within which the manifestation of all events takes place – all of the Universe will cease to be made manifest, as all planets, stars, solar systems and universes are subject to heat dissolution or the imploding of physicality according to involution per the second law of thermodynamics. Hence the black holes in space.

The endless knot is a graphic representation of the process of the interaction of the two forces of nature: Ying and Yang within the bounds of the dualistic universe of manifestation.

In the West this is also known as Einstein's theory of relativity, which is the expression of the Pythagorean doctrine of pairs of opposite, written in the Hindu Upanishads and Vedas thousands of years before Christ.

However, the manifestation of Nature as the interplay of the pairs of opposites, takes place within the eternal that has no beginning and no end, and is within time and beyond time, as it is not subject or limited by time; that within which things are known to be as they are – not as they appear to be as they are not. As such there is no subject and object or differentiation in the realm of the permanent eternal.

The Vesica Piscis
The Vesica Piscis
The Vesica Piscis

Notice that the endless knot represents the interconnectedness of all things by the continual weaving of right angle lines that have no beginning or ending; hence it is called the endless knot. Besides the intertwining of the right angle knots, which show the continual play of cause and effect within the manifested world, if you look closely you can see many geometric patters representing the dyads, triads, tetrads, hexads, and other geometric figures as well; simplicity within complexity and complexity within simplicity.

The Endless Knot

The Endless Knot

Nature exists by the interplay of the two opposite cosmic forces of yin and yang. Nature had a beginning as shone by the start of manifestation of the first two cosmic opposites, that which started the process of cosmic evolution – the out-breathing and unfolding of all that is bound.

Nature has an end as shone by the second law of thermodynamics, mass entropy – or an inbreathing of the out breathing/inbreathing evolutionary/involutionary process, upon which all differentiation will return to undifferentiated sameness. As the Tao Te Ching says:

Nature is composed of all unintelligent units of manifestation that are conscious as their functions only. Matter is substance that manifests as these unintelligent units of nature, and which progress to be intelligent units. Spirit is the active side of nature, while matter is the passive side. The active side (Spirit) operates through the passive side (matter).

Life is a carrier of the Light through the various forms of manifestations. Life is the medium between that which is above and that which is below. Life carries the fine to the gross and helps the gross transform into the fine. All seeds contain within – a germ of life – a germ of Light.

Within humans the germ of life is what most call the soul, which is the breath-form, having an active (breath) and a passive (form) side through which it works to progress. The inner circle represents the Germ of Life, the second circle represents the Seed of Life, the third circle represents the Flower of Life, and the fourth circle is the Fruit of Life.

The mind is the process, by which intelligent matter functions as thinking, which is the focusing of the Light within on the subject at hand. Just as the universe unfolds or manifests, so too does thinking proceed: by point, line, angle, and circle.

However, almost all thinking done by most humans creates thoughts, by the issuance of the Light within, out into nature by the thinking of thoughts.

Fruit of Life

Thoughts are alive, as they have Light within them; however, we, as the thinking being that created the thought, have given or issued some of our Light thereby, out into nature. As such, all thoughts need to be balanced by reclaiming the Light. This is the process that leads to enlightenment.

All action requires thought; all thought requires desire; all desire requires feeling; all feeling requires sensation. Thus our Karma or destiny is determined by our thinking, as everything is but a thought made manifest. It is, however, possible to think without creating thoughts – or further Karma or destiny.

We as human or incarnate beings are bound within a physical body and have awareness of the world through our four senses; each one of the senses is for each one of the four elements of earth, air, fire and water.

We have experience by external sensation entering our body through one or more of our senses, which gives rise to sensation by one of the four sense organs and the nerve channels within and connecting those organs.

These sensations, which are electromagnetic vibrations of energy, then create a feeling from the sensations; which in turn creates a desire; the desire then puts the mind to work to fulfill the desire – by initiating action. Thus all action comes from thought, desire and feeling.

Electromagnetic Vibrations
Electromagnetic Vibrations
Electromagnetic Vibrations

During the process of thinking, the thinker attaches a portion of his inner Light to the thought by his attachment to the desire that gave rise to the thought. Such is the reason of the reference to attachment in various systems or disciplines of thought found throughout history.

The rebalancing takes place by becoming unattached to the objects of desire, by freeing one's Light that we have given to the thought by the bounding of it with our desire or object of desire.

Each and every individual thought must be balanced and the Light within reclaimed by the individual who issued the thought. Gradually more and more Light or knowledge will be revealed within the individual, helping and showing him the way to higher states of consciousness.

Whither in essence, is the Way we progress back to a higher state of being or consciousness from which we have descended; returning to a more fully progressed state of being, not subject to physical incarnation and the world of duality or pairs of opposite; and the requisite death of the physical body that is part and parcel of physical incarnation.

Such is the way out of what some call the cycle of death and rebirth or incarnate being: to progress to a much higher state of consciousness from whence we have come. Such is the reason or cause of the various stories and legends and myths of the fall of man.

MYTH & RELIGION

History is full of stories, legends, and myths, in all cultures, throughout the ages; the same general themes recurring over and over, time and again; a bit different here and there, depending on the time, and place, of the thoughts of those manifesting the beliefs; including the basis of most religious systems. Such is how man attempts to explain his life, being, and destiny.

The world-renowned writer, Joseph Campbell, repeatedly emphasized the recurring thread he always found throughout the myths and religions of the world. Carl Young referred to archetypes, akin to Plato's ideas.

Common sense alone would say, that whatever the Truth is, it must be the same for all – if such truly exists. However, man's awareness of Truth, or that which he may or may not believe to be true, is entirely different from Truth. Truth does not change – all else does.

Ancient stories and myths of creation, from Sumeria, to Egypt, Greece, China and Rome; all have the same recurring themes. Legends of the "great flood" are found in almost all civilizations, from the epic story of Giglamesh, to Norse legends, to the Bible. Even the inner spiritual teachings of the world religions speak of similar knowledge and mystical mysteries.

From the Rig Veda it is said:

From the Bhagavad Gita it is said:

From the Torah it is said:

THE CONNECTION

So what does any of the above have to do with pence – or money? It would appear that money and religion and spirituality would be fairly divergent topics. But appearances can be deceiving. Man's destiny may be closely bound with the "issue" of money.

As shown in Honest Money, money is simply a medium of exchange that man uses to obtain the necessities of life: food, clothing, water, and shelter. Some are able to buy luxury items; and some continue on to worship the god of Lucre, and for them, the desire of want is never fulfilled.

But these things are of the physical world. Man is obviously within the physical world, but are we thus bound by the physical? Are we only the physical body, or do we use the body as a vehicle, to move about the physical world, to experience corporeal experience? Are we the life force within that gives life to the body? What did Christ mean when he said, " I am in the world, but not of it"?

Are we the body, the mind, the soul, or spirit? Or might we be even more? Perhaps the soul uses the body as a vehicle, but perhaps spirit uses the soul as a vehicle, as spirit and matter are but a pair of opposites: one the finer – the other the grosser. What could use spirit as a vehicle?

Perhaps man's true essence is pure consciousness – the source behind, within, without, and beyond all. Perhaps not. All are capable of determining for themselves. As THE TAO OF YOGA says in the Tao Te Ching,

Most of the major religions and myths speak of a fall from grace or a descent of man, alluding to the idea that we came from a higher state, to this lower or "grosser" state of physicality below. Hence the finer worlds of spirits and angels, and the many myths of gods and goddesses. The fine and the gross refer to the different vibratory levels of energy.

There is either order and purpose or there is not. If not, then not very much matters but the law of the jungle. If there is order and purpose, then order implies whence, and purpose implies whither. Perhaps the stories and myths about a fall or descent of man, to this a lower world, are true.

Great Sphinix of Egypt
Great Sphinix of Egypt
Great Sphinix of Egypt

Are the stories, especially as found within the Egyptian and Greek belief systems, which speak of Divine Rulers or Gods and Immortals that once walked the Earth, the stuff of fairy tales, or could they true? What of the legends of Atlantis and Lemuria? From whence did they come? Imagination? And from whence comes imagination? From whence comes whence?

Is it possible that at one time, the "we" that are presently incorporate within our bodies, were not so bound: – not in or of the physical world? Is it possible that these legends and stories of gods and immortals are ageless tales of the first race of man within a Golden Age, when there was no desire for want, as we now subject ourselves to? What of the following – of what does it speak?

Perhaps ages ago man had no need for commerce, and hence no need for money. Perhaps if man is to progress or evolve, or to return from whence he came, such progress will involve the quality of man's being, his inner being as opposed to his outer being. Perhaps one of the steps along the way will be Honest Money, which in turn will be but a stepping-stone to eventually no need of money. Perhaps not. But so it has been written:

Perhaps the above is true, perhaps it even speaks of Truth – perhaps not, but it does provide food for thought – perhaps even for thought without creating thoughts. Each must decide for themselves. But the would be rulers of the Universe should pay heed to the admonishment that "when the perfect comes, the imperfect shall cease to be."

HONEST MONEY

The theory of Honest Money is based not only on our constitutional heritage, but on our spiritual heritage as well. There cannot be a system of Honest Money, unless and until such time that We The People no longer accept the unacceptable.

We The People must seek honesty in our dealings with one another because it is right; and part and parcel of the way whither from whence we came. It has been said that even a nation and the world, just as individuals, get what is they deserve – 'tis but Karma.

St. Gaudens $20 Gold Piece
St. Gaudens $20 Gold Piece
St. Gaudens $20 Gold Piece

As shown in Honest Money the present system of irredeemable paper fiat is nothing more than a wealth transference scheme for the elite moneychangers to profit at the expense of those forced to accept the unacceptable – a monetary system based on debt and perpetual interest and servitude. A system that sells the future for the present – cannot possibly be right.

There is no honesty and freedom lying ahead for our children, within such a system that strangles the spiritual life force to exact a toll, as if squeezing water from a stone.

A cross roads has been arrived at, and it is time for man to make a decision, to either enter the adulthood of the present race of humanity, or to fall back even further towards the abyss. As it has been said:

If ever there was a time to do something – now is the time.

RULERS OF THE UNIVERSE

There are those who desire to rule, as it is in their blood. The two basic forces of Yin and Yang manifests as man and woman, by feeling and desire; feeling imbedded within the nervous system; desire within the blood. Feeling predominates in woman, desire in man. Both are, however, within each.

There are very old and ancient lineages, of bloodlines, that go back and come from, families that have ruled over man throughout the ages – by tyranny and the usurpation of freedom and liberty; and who wish to do the same now, in the present, as they and their ancestors have done before in the past. There is even more then herein presented in regards to such, but now is not the time.

Their main tools are illusion and delusion, but the monetary systems of the world also afford them great influence by which to control or rule the people, thereby gaining power and riches for themselves, which in turn place other controls under their dominion, such as politics, education, and the rule of law – the rule of force – that might makes right. But remember - The Law.

Not all have obtained by such ill-gotten gains, as there are many great men that have helped the world and humanity progress, and in so doing, reaped large and just rewards, the fruits of their labor, the harvest of honest work and service; but most of the elite international collectivists have taken their gains by feeding at the trough of the woe of humanity; that rises from the bottomless pit below, leaving the taste of wormwood that eats away at the innards – of its host.

This may be part of the rhyme and reason of how and why one half of one percent of an elite few have come to own 95% of everything in the world. Cui Bono?

Remember it has been said, "that it is easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle, then it is for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven." By these words it would seem that the elite rulers may have a hard time entering in at the Gate, as they may find that they have not stored up the proper treasure to gain entrance. Perhaps the "first shall be last, and the last shall be first" – and the "meek shall inherit the earth". Perhaps not. Time will tell.

So who are these would be rulers? Just watch the world stage and they shall appear, drawn out of the shadows as the moth to the flame – as false prophets that come pretending to be lambs, but are ravaging wolves within.

They will show their hand – just follow the money and power, it, like water, will seek its own level. Watch the fruit of the tree, as only a healthy tree can bare forth good fruit. The diseased tree will bring forth fruit that is rotten, through to the core, which even a swine would not partake of.

Also remember the fight over the sacred ground of the Mideast that has been going on since day one, and continues even today. Watch for those that try to rule the world from the Holy Ground.

Already there are those that speak of such, who claim to be descended from Holy Blood; and hence from a lineage of Divine Rulers. There is even a "mystic" code that supposedly reveals them to the world. Such is the work of false prophets – "clanging cymbals in the wind", who have gone so far as to attempt to rewrite history, in order to gain favor and advantage, so ravenous is their want of desire that never gets quenched.

WHITHER WE GO

Once again, there is both order and purpose, or there is not. If there is, then what is the purpose? Should not We The People be trying to follow its course? Should not our government be governing so as to follow its course?

From what we have discussed, should not peace be desired over war? Should not Honest Money be desired over a system of paper fiat debt? Should not helping our fellow man be preferred over conquering the world by force of arms?

Alan Greenspan once wrote a paper entitled, Gold and Economic Freedom (click link to read), in which he said the following:

So according to the words of Sir Alan (Sir almost being a title of nobility granted to him by the Queen Mom), we appear to be on the merry old road to Oz, which the book, the Wizard of Oz, is actually a story about the silver and gold standard versus paper fiat money controlled by the wizard behind the curtain: nothing but smoke and mirrors – illusion and delusion.

Wizard Behind the Curtain
Wizard Behind the Curtain
Wizard Behind the Curtain

And my has the wizard been a very busy boy, creating more debt then ever before, which does not seem to be the best of places to be headed, much closer to the road to perdition then to the stairway to heaven. Even Sir Alan, in one of his more lucid moments remarked:

"Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the hidden confiscation of wealth."

Within this series and the Honest Money series, Sir Alan's scheme has been referred to as a wealth transference system, that allows one half of one percent of the population, to own 95% of everything, which is probably why Lord Rothschild only cared if he controlled the money, he cared not who was King or Queen, nor who borrowed the money and took on the debt – as long as somebody, anybody, and hopefully everybody did – and they have.

TOWARDS A NEW THEORY OF MONEY

As expressed in both GOLD: Sovereign of Sovereigns and in Honest Money a monetary system of paper fiat debt is a dishonest scheme of wealth transference – a scourge to the common man, whose honest produce and profit of hard labor and toil is siphoned of as if it was the life-blood of a vampire, needed to sustain his cursed and fiendish existence.

Towards a new theory of money is offered first the return to the near distant past, when our money followed the law of the Constitution that called for a hard currency system of nothing but silver and gold coin. Bills of credit or paper money were literally forbidden, as the early colonists had already experienced the ravages of paper fiat and the inflation it engendered, and the deflation that soon followed in its wake, devouring what few crumbs were left.

The defining signature of Honest Money is that it cannot be based on debt or that which is owed; it must be based on the welfare of the common man, what is known as the common weal from whence the word wealth is derived – that which has been produced and is not owed; that which can be saved and stored for future use. That which has value earned by the sweat of man's brow. Such has been explained in the articles referenced above, there is no need to repeat them further.

As mentioned earlier, however, is the critical point that Honest Money cannot exist unless We The People not only want it to exist, but demand that it exist – and promote such existence by the return and emphasis of honest dealings in all forms of human interaction, especially those involving commerce, trade, industry, business, money, and finance. Otherwise, any attempt at Honest Money will fall by the wayside, as does the seed cast upon barren Earth. Honest Money needs fertile ground from which to grow, to be able to spread its wings and soar.

Many often speak of fixing this or fixing that, such as for example: education, health care, the ways and means of retirement, etc. But how can any of these and other problems be fixed without an honest monetary system? Does not the remedy for all of these problems involve the expenditure of money?

Money is the basis of all aspects of present day life, as the common necessities of life still require money, as do all means of our physical existence. Money forms the foundation upon which our physical existence is constructed. If the foundation of any structure is unsound, so too will be the structure that rests upon it for support.

This is not to say that money is all there is to life – far from it, but man has allowed money to become a very dominant force within his life, forming the basis for most of what he does in his life, for the obtainment of money to pay for sustaining his life. To work and produce and create are admirable and worthwhile endeavors, it is time well spent.

But to work to pay the lender that which he did not even have in his possession to lend (money/credit), but simply created out of thin air, by using the paper fiat system of debt, credit, and fractional reserve lending, is a sad travesty – no different than feudal servitude and slavery, which has simply been dressed up to appear less formidable and more appealing. They who offer such are false prophets and speak in strange tongues.

We The People need to demand that our elected representatives realize, understand, and act according to the fact that they represent and serve us. They need to be reminded that they work for us, that they serve us.

We The People came before the government. We The People created the government in order to establish a more Perfect Union. We The People ordained the Constitution. We The People are Sovereign – we came first and all else followed from us. The giver of a gift is greater than the gift he gives.

We The People that make up the country need to have a purpose and goal for which the country exists – not just to perpetuate our existence, but to fulfill the meaning and purpose of life. Our government should be so structured, to facilitate such purpose of being. This involves the philosophical and Spiritual aspect of our life.

Just as an economic system cannot be sound if the monetary system upon which it is based is unsound, the same is true of our government and other aspects of our life. If they are not grounded and based upon a solid foundation and center, they too will crumble and fall to the ground, the ruins of another civilization gone by – all for naught.

Some believe that in the future, man will progress to not only Honest Money, but to the state of not needing any money or commerce at all. Most would say such is the stuff of dreams, wishful thinking – impossible to attain. I wonder what pro-magnum man would say about electricity, airplanes, submarines, space shuttles, brain surgery, and heart transplants? Others believe that we are only limited by the limits we place on ourselves. It has been said:

Personal Position

Personal Position:
I've come to realize that 'truth' boils down to what we 'believe' the facts we've gathered point to. We only 'know' what we've 'experienced' firsthand. Everything else - what we read, what we watch, what we hear - is what someone else's gathered facts point to and 'they' 'believe' is 'truth', so that 'truth' seems to change in direct proportion to newly gathered facts divided by applied plausibility. Though I believe there is 'truth', until someone representing the celestial realm visibly appears and presents the heavenly records of Facts And Lies In The Order They Happened, I can't know for sure exactly what "the whole truth' on any given subject is, and what applies to me applies to everyone. Until then I'll continue to ask, "what does The Urantia Book say on the subject?"
