Episode VII -- The Deluge
c. 800,000 B.C.E. Early Lemurian development. In the world of ESP, channels, clairvoyants, and psychics, the one name that stands above the rest is that of Edgar Cayce, easily considered to be the world's most important clairvoyant or channel. Over a period of forty years, Mr. Cayce, a self-described Christian fundamentalist, provided a total of 14,246 Life Readings, a feat of amazing dedication considering the fact that upon awakening from his sleep/trance, Cayce had no conscious recall of anything he had said while asleep. Small wonder that he was known as "The Sleeping Prophet."
In addition to delivering "Life Readings" -- attempts to understand current lives by discovering relevant past lives which bore upon the current situation -- Cayce also provided a host of revelations, many of which conflicted with his own philosophical views. A particularly noteworthy example is Cayce's statement that Jesus was the reincarnation of Adam. To make matters worse for this Sunday School teacher, Jesus' past lives also included Enoch, the scribe who some believe wrote the first books of the Bible (and who according to our calculations lived while Adam was still alive -- giving us the slightest amount of pause about the accuracy of Cayce's readings). Other past lives included Jeshua, who later translated and brought the Biblical books up to date, Joseph, the son of Jacob sold by his brothers into captivity in Egypt, Joshua, the aide of Moses who brought the children of Israel out of Egypt, and Melchizedek, priest-king of Salem. The latter was a contemporary of Abraham, and may explain the statements of Jesus: "Even before Abraham was, I am," and "Abraham knew my day, and was glad thereof." But the strangest of Jesus' alleged incarnations was "Amilius" of Atlantis.
Edgar Cayce not only gave readings which often referenced past lives in Atlantis, the legendary kingdom described by the Greek philosopher, Plato, but also past lives in the lost continent of Lemuria. Over 650 Life Readings touched upon the Atlantean and Lemurian periods, and on this basis, slim and wispy as it may be, we've included some brief mention of Lemuria and Atlantis. It's something of a major stretch to include Lemuria, particularly since the early Lemurian development coincides with the Pliocene Epoch, about the time of Java Man. Lemuria also predates the Anunnaki. On the other hand, perhaps the Earth has had other visitors. For example, there are today, people who claim that the Arcturians from another star system visited the Earth in the earliest times. There are also people who believe that they are Elvis Presley, John Kennedy, and/or the reincarnation of Napoleon.
c. 500,000 B.C.E. Fortunately, for our Annals, Lemuria is inundated by water and its peoples scattered. This is roughly the time of Pangaea, the supercontinent, and may explain the inundation.
c. 350,000 B.C.E. Unfortunately, for these Annals, Lemuria is once again inhabited and its civilization considerably advanced. Of course, "advanced" may be a relative term.
c. 250,000 B.C.E. Supposedly a second Lemurian catastrophe, possibly by fire. Inasmuch as this is in the time frame of the Anunnaki mutiny, perhaps there is some wild, weird, way-out connection.
c. 210,320 B.C.E. The creation of Adam by Enki and Ninti. Eve created with the judicious use of Adam's rib, thereby initiating the book of the generations of Adam; i.e. Genesis 5:1-2:
"This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created."
Note that God "called their name Adam..."
c. 200,000 B.C.E. Early culture of Atlantis emerged. Where? It's not real clear. It might be noted, however, that this was a time of a glacial period when God was, apparently, being cool toward mankind.
On the other hand, this is also the approximate time that Adam and Eve are being thrown out of their lodgings and set up as the first homeless refugees in history. Some time in this period, there is also the fact that Adam is begetting Cain, Abel, and eventually Seth. One suspects that Eve was probably involved as well, but the Bible doesn't go into great detail concerning Eve's allegedly minor part.
Unfortunately the act of being made homeless and subjected to the environmental conditions of prehistoric Earth probably contributed to the juvenile delinquency of Cain, who promptly killed his brother Abel. Cain then left for parts unknown (possibly Atlantis, or even the New World). The only good thing that arises from this homicide is that Seth, a son in Adam's own likeness, after Adam's image, becomes the link between Adam and the "approved" lineage to Noah. Adam (and Eve?) beget other sons and daughters -- which may be very important for the next step; to wit...
c. 182,120 B.C.E. Seth begets Enos. The Bible does not address the question of exactly who assisted Seth in this little endeavor. One suspects a sister. Of course, in the best tradition of the Anunnaki, the ideal mate for Seth would have been a half-sister -- but then this would have implied that Adam had eyes for someone other than Eve. Like a daughter. Meanwhile, Seth has other sons and daughters as well.
[It might be noted parenthetically that according to Hebrew tradition, Eve was Adam's second wife -- the first wife being Lilith.]
c. 180,000 B.C.E. The Old Testament considered Enos to be the progenitor of the human lineage. Enos, or Enosh, in Hebrew means "human" or "mortal." It was during the time of Enos "that the name of Yahweh began to be called," and that worship and priesthood began.
c. 171,320 B.C.E. And Enos beget Cainan, and in keeping with tradition, beget other sons and daughters.
c. 162,920 B.C.E. And Cainan beget Mahalaleel, et al.
c. 155,120 B.C.E. And Mahalaleel beget Jared. Also written as Yared, Jared means in Hebrew "He of Eridu." In the Tale of Adapa, the Sumerian text explains that Adapa (alias Adam) was "perfected" and treated as a son by Enki in Enki's city of Eridu. This treatment was quite royal, in that:
"Wide understanding Enki perfected for him, to disclose the designs of the Earth; to him he gave Knowing; but immortality he did not give him."
This royal education was sufficient to encourage Assyrian kings (7th century B.C.E.), such as Sargon and Sennacherib to claim they "had inherited the wisdom that Enki had granted Adapa." Others such as Sinsharishkun and Esarhaddon boasted that they were born "in the image of the wise Adapa," and Ashurbanipal asserted that he had learned "the secret of tablet-writing from before the Deluge" as Adapa had known. So who says that home schooling is inferior to public schooling!?
c. 135,680 B.C.E. In the fourth generation after Enos, the first-born son was named Enoch. Genesis 5: 24 states that: "And Enoch walked with God; and he was not; for God took him." This is substantially enlarged upon in the extra-biblical The Book of Enoch, which details Enoch's first visit with the angels of God, when the up-and-coming patriarch was instructed in various sciences and ethics. Then after Enoch returned to the Earth to pass the knowledge and the latest, up-to-date requisites of priesthood to his sons, Enoch was taken aloft once more to permanently join the Nefilim in their celestial abode.
Don't ever let anyone tell you that a good education is not worth its weight in gold! (It's just that a good education is very hard to come by -- and certainly not something which one might come across in the public schools or universities!) [The Nefilim, by the way, were first mentioned in the Bible in Genesis 6:4, where the name was incorrectly translated from the original Hebrew, as "giants." The Nefilim we will return to momentarily.]
Meanwhile, back on the Sumerian front, we learn of similar stories. The Sumerian texts tell of several instances when chosen mortals were permitted to go up to Anu's abode (his palace on Nibiru) for advice or favor, but mostly with the objective of escaping mortality. Numerous texts describe Anu's palace (whose portals were guarded by a god of the Tree of Truth and a god of the Tree of Life), his throne, the manner in which other gods approached Anu, and how they sat in his presence. For both gods and selected mortals could petition Anu.
One of the Sumerian tales describes the case of Adapa (aka Adama), the "model of Man," who was so perfect and loyal to Enki, who had created him, that Enki arranged for his adopted son to be taken on a holiday to Nibiru. Enki even described to Adapa what to expect:
"Adapa, thou art going before Anu, the King; The road to Heaven thou wilt take. When to Heaven thou hast ascended, and hast approached the gate of Anu, the "Bearer of Life" and the "Grower of Truth" at the gate of Anu will be standing."
With such guidance, Adapa "to Heaven went up... ascended to Heaven and approached the gate of Anu." The problem is that Enki failed to mention one thing, and when Adapa was offered the chance to become immortal by eating the Bread of Life, he refused, thinking that the angry Anu was offering him poisoned food. Adapa was then returned to Earth as an anointed, but mortal, priest.
A second such tale is encountered in the Sumerian King List, which records the priestly reign of Enmeduranki in Sippar (one of the cities of the Anunnaki, under the command of Utu/Shamash).
"Enmeduranki [was] a prince in Sippar, beloved of Anu, Enlil and Enki. Shamash in the Bright Temple appointed him. Shamash and Adad [took him] to the assembly [of the gods]... They showed him how to observe oil on water, a secret of Anu, Enlil and Enki. They gave him the Divine Tablet, the kibdu secret of Heaven and Earth... They taught him how to make calculations with numbers."
As in the case of Enoch, Enmeduranki was groomed by the gods to be the first priest with any real understanding of the esoteric mysteries, as well as create an hereditary priesthood and pass on the secret knowledge to them. This knowledge included the engraved secrets of Heaven and Earth (i.e. Earth sciences, astronomy and cosmogony), and the ability to make calculations (i.e. mathematics). In The Book of Enoch, knowledge imparted to Enoch included mining, metallurgy and the secrets of the Lower World, geography and the way the Earth is watered, astronomy and the laws governing celestial motions, how to calculate the calendar, and knowledge of plants, flowers, and foods.
The Sumerian texts went on to explicitly state that the knowledge was to be passed from father to son, just as the gods had commanded. "The learned savant, who guards the secrets of the gods, will bind his favored son with an oath before Shamash and Adad... And will instruct him in the secrets of the gods." Enmeduranki also mimicked Enoch in that they both ascended, i.e. "God took him." In effect, they did not die, but made the transition the easy way. This also explains why Enoch did not live the customary 900+ years of his family tree, but left the planet after a mere 365. (We leave it to your imagination the possible mathematical significance of the number of Enoch's years.)
The case of Enoch and Enmeduranki brings up another point. The Sumerian King List gives the names, cities, and length of reigns) of nine priest-kings who reigned before the time of the Deluge. If one compares the biblical version with the Sumerian, we obtain an interesting correlation.
Biblical | Sumerian King LIst | |
---|---|---|
Adam | Alulim (NIN.KI) | 8 Sars (28,800 years) |
Seth | Alagar (NIN.KI) | 10 Sars (36,000 years) |
Enos | Enmenluanna (BAD.TIBIRA) | 12 Sars (43,200 years) |
Cainan | Enmengalanna (BAD.TIBIRA) | 8 Sars (28,800 years) |
Mahalaleel | Dumuzi the Spepherd (BAD.TIBIRA) | 10 Sars (36,000 years) |
Jared | Ensipazianna (ERIDU) | 8 Sars (28,800 years) |
Enoch | Enmeduranki (SIPPAR) | 6 Sars (21,600 years) |
Methuselah | ? Divine Ruler (LARSA) | 12 Sars (43,200 years) |
Lamech | Ubartutu (SHURUPPAK) | 5 Sars (18,000 years) |
Noah | Ziusudra (SHURUPPAK) |
In comparing these "king lists," we note immediately the Enoch/Enmeduranki connection. In addition, virtually all scholars recognize the equivalence of Noah and Ziusudra -- both are described in detail along with an associated flood. The same applies to Ubartutu (known as the father of Ziusudra) and Lamech, who beget Noah.
The cities of each of the Sumerian "Kings" are also of interest. NIN.KI is another spelling of Ninti, Enki's half-sister and wife, and the co-creator of Man. It makes sense that Adam and Seth (i.e. Alulim and Alagar) might have stayed close to home and their goddess-Mommy. BAD.TIBIRA is "The Bright Place Where the Ores Are Made Final"). The kingship might have been shifted to BAD.TIBIRA during the time that Enos was beginning the priesthood bit, and when the final making of the ores was probably being done by the human slaves under the priest-king's direction. Jared connects with Ensipazianna quite easily, and SIPPAR as the spaceport for the Anunnaki connects with the jumping off place for ascending to the stars with the gold and/or finalized ores. SHURUPPAK, incidentally, was "The Place of Utmost Well-Being," the medical center run by Ninti. And it was there, in his own backyard, that Enki could pass along to Ziusudra the catastrophic weather forecast and the design for a vessel with which to weather the tides of fortune and/or floods.
In the Sumerian King List, the reigns are listed with specific Sars and/or years. There is the possibility that the biblical listing simply did not include the "reigns" of Adam, et al; for then it would have had the problem of explaining over whom the biblical "kings before the flood" were ruling. And there is no particular reason why the lifetimes of Adam and the gang should correlate with the Sumerian reigns. On the other hand, Adam could have begun his "reign" when he was considerably older (and when there were lots of little Adam Juniors, Seth Juniors, etcetera, running around).
The idea of Adam, et al being priest-kings makes a lot of sense. With the population of miners and ditch diggers increasing with every passing Sar, there was the inevitable result that authority figures would be needed to handle the output of the suggestion boxes and complaint departments -- one might suspect that the Anunnaki could have been inundated with complaints. But inasmuch as the Anunnaki were probably not eager to handle this, they may have established Adam's descendants in the roles of priest-kings. Furthermore, these priest-kings would have likely received special treatment, even to the extent they may have lived considerably longer than the rank and file human workers.
Let's face it: it's hard to get good help, and once you've trained a king properly, there has got to be some advantage in keeping him around for as long a period of time as feasible. Thus, as we mentioned in the last Episode, it is entirely reasonable that the priest-kings were being fed a whole lot better, were being properly trained and educated, and were living much longer as a result. Keep in mind that in future generations, the priests and kings of ancient history were still receiving such fringe benefits, at least to the extent they could manage it. More on this later.
c. 127,880 B.C.E. Enoch begets Methuselah, the all-time grand champion of human longevity. One wonders if the fact that Methuselah waited until he was 187 years old to have his first son could account for his living to the ripest old age on record. Putting off children may have some definite advantages!
c. 110,000 B.C.E. Probable date for the Negroid race to have split off from the Caucasian/Mongoloid team. It is not clear that this has any relevance to the current trend in these Annals, but one never knows.
c. 105,440 B.C.E. Methuselah begets Lamech, also known in Sumeria as Ubartutu. With a name like that, it's probably no wonder why he might want to be known to history as Lamech. There is the other point that Lamech had his 900 years cut short at a mere 777, possibly because of the Flood. Se la vie.
c. 100,000 B.C.E. A time when the Earth's climate appears to be warming up -- and maybe the polar ice caps are beginning to melt... And perhaps the water beginning to rise...
c. 87,000 B.C.E. First major disturbance in Atlantis (according to Cayce). Lemuria is submerged, falling off the continental shelf so to speak. One suspects this was done in the same manner many are anticipating for California. In any case, Lemuria has made its last, nebulous appearance in these Annals. Just as well. I never met a Lemurian I liked. (Never met a Lemurian I didn't...)
c. 85,000 B.C.E. A new ice age begins. Not exactly a good omen.
c. 83,600 B.C.E. Lamech begets Noah, also known as Ziusudra and/or Utnapishtim (Babylonian). By the time of the seventh generation after Enos and the time of Noah, the Earth and its inhabitants were being gripped by an Ice Age. There was great suffering, food shortages, even cannibalism. When Lamech beget his first-born son, he named him Noah, which means "Respite." Lamech evidently hoped that Noah's birth would signal a respite "from the work and toil that cometh from the Earth which the Lord hath cursed." We also know that Noah was born in Shuruppak, the medical center run by Ninti. Accordingly, Noah was under the tutelage of Enki and his half-sister. This becomes important later.
The "Lord," meanwhile, refers to the Lord of the Command, the Commander-in-Chief, Enlil. The Sumerian texts also relate that as mankind's hardships were increasing, Enki suggested -- and Enlil vehemently opposed -- the taking of measures to alleviate the suffering. What apparently was upsetting Enlil no end was the increasing sexual relationships between the young male Anunnaki and the daughters of Man. This difficulty of the Lord, Enlil, is best described in Genesis, where after a plethora of begetting in Chapter five, Chapter six starts off with a return to the drama:
"And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose." [Genesis 6: 1-2]
There has always been a question among scholars as to exactly who "the sons of God" were. Obviously, it doesn't take a minor league genius and reader of these Annals to figure that the "sons of God" were the Anunnaki. Young Anunnaki at loose ends, with nothing much to do except compose rap songs. Numerous Sumerian texts do, in fact, relate different instances of the rank and file Anunnaki asking for permission to marry or obtain advice from someone on a particular human female.
In one text, for example, the story is told of a young god named Martu, who complained that he too should be permitted to espouse a human wife. Martu, of course, already had his eyes on someone in particular, the daughter of a priest in the city of NIN.AB. Desiring her, Martu went to his mother and asked permission to take the human as wife. When it was determined by his mother that the maiden "appreciated his gaze," Martu received the goddess' consent. Unfortunately, it was just this sort of thing that increasingly vexed Enlil, who was "disturbed by Mankind's pronouncements" and its "infatuation with sex and lust." Clearly, Enlil would make an ideal fundamentalist in today's world -- and may in fact be the god the fundamentalists are inadvertently worshipping.
"There were [Nefilim] in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. [Genesis 6: 4]
The term Nefilim has usually been translated as "giants," but as mentioned before, this is unlikely to be a reasonable translation of the term. Zecharia Sitchin has referred to the opening enigmatic section of the sixth chapter of Genesis as "a horror of translators and theologians alike." He has also pointed out that recent translators no longer translate Nefilim as giants, and instead leave the Hebrew word untranslated. But Sitchin also rushes in where angels (or Anunnaki) fear to tread, quoting Malbim, a noted Jewish biblical commentator of the nineteenth century:
"In ancient times the rulers of countries were the sons of the deities who arrived upon the Earth from the Heavens, and ruled the Earth, and married wives from among the daughters of Man; and their offspring included heroes and mighty ones, princes and sovereigns."
Alternatively, Sitchin translates Nefilim as "the people of the shem" (where shem is given its original meaning -- which Sitchin believes to be a rocket or rocket ship), and in a less controversial manner, as "those who were cast down upon Earth!" In either case, the Nefilim are the Anunnaki, specifically the ones inclined, apparently, to the art of begetting -- i.e. getting it on with the daughters of man.
"And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
"And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. [Genesis 6: 5-7]
Interestingly enough, God (also known as Enlil) concluded from the fact that since his troops were consorting with the daughters of man, that "the wickedness of man was great." There's a certain lack of rationality on the part of Enlil here. The Anunnaki go slumming, and Enlil decides to take it out on the fathers of the females with whom the Anunnaki are slumming. It goes on to say that Enlil decides on this basis that he will also destroy every beast, bird and creeping thing! Enlil then somehow justifies this ultimate in homicide, beasticide, fowlacide, and creepingthingcide by noting:
"The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence."
Hey, the way I also get rid of violence in my life, is to kill, maim, and torture whatever is committing the violence -- except me, of course. It's okay, if I commit violence.
Nevertheless, the dye was cast. The Anunnaki were taking the daughters of Man to wife, Enlil was finding this lack of genetic purity (a very big thing with the Nibiruan powers-that-be -- and potentially a lot of their distant ancestors) to be wholly unacceptable, and thus, according to the Bible, deciding to end it all.
The Sumerian version departs from the Biblical story at this point, by suggesting that Enlil tried numerous other methods of countering the corrupt nature of Man, before he determined to flood them out. Moreover, there is every reason to believe that Enlil could not have been responsible for the Flood, that it was a natural catastrophe far beyond his powers. [This is the age old case of someone knowing a solar eclipse is about to occur and then pretending that they are the ones causing it.]
The Bible gives God the credit for engineering the Flood, but it also gives God the credit for finding grace with Noah and then saving him, his sons, wives, and the male and female of every living thing of all flesh, including fowls, cattle, and creeping things. Obviously, this abrupt turn around in thinking is equally beyond the far-from-omnipotence of Enlil. Clearly, Enki would be the responsible party, if any saving was to be done. But before that...
c. 77,000 B.C.E. Ubartutu (who prefers the name, Lamech), a human of divine parentage, assumes the reign in Shuruppak under the patronage of Ninti, also known as Ninki and/or Ninhursag.
c. 49,000 B.C.E. Ziusudra (alias the Babylonian Utnapishtim, alias the Biblical Noah, alias the jokester's ArkMan) assumes rule in Shuruppak, earning the title of "faithful servant" of Enki.
Meanwhile, Enlil is not at all happy and begins to plot against mankind -- a factor not to be taken lightly in that it was Enlil who threw us out of the Garden of Eden!
c. 40,000 B.C.E. The theoretical date of the split between the Caucasian and Mongoloid races. This is also the time frame of the last hurrahs from the Neanderthals, and the final ascendancy of Cro-Magnon Man.
One might conjecture... Why not, we've conjectured most everything else? ...that Enlil and Enki were somehow responsible for most of this. On the one hand, Enlil was beginning to take matters into his own hands and initiating his New Deal program to radically reduce the population of Mankind. At the same time, Enki was countering much of Enlil's work by introducing technology to his "faithful servant."
Perhaps these factors were responsible for the demise of the Neanderthal. It was, after all, another ice age, and really quite cold outside. Enki, for example, might have provided down coats, or wool jackets from Lands End -- anything to keep people warm. Any such advantages might have given an edge to the Cro-Magnons in the Descendents-of-Homo-erectus-Evolution-and-Survival-Race.
Speaking of races, or what passes for subspecies of races, the English, German and Italian are very closely related to one another, much more so than the Chinese and Japanese, for example. The English are also closer to northern Indians than Eskimos are to Alaskan Indians. Saudi Arabians are rather distinct from everyone, and so are the Finns. "South American Indians show a perplexing closeness to Polynesians; the Polynesians in their turn are genetically similar to Chinese and Indonesians; Papuans and aboriginal Australians form a cluster but with significant genetic differences between them." American Indians are more distant from Mongoloids than generally thought; and North Africans in Libya and Egypt are more closely related to Europeans than to sub-Saharan Africans. Jews remain genetically distinctive. The smallest genetic difference between major groups is between Europeans and Asians, and the largest difference is between Asians and Africans.
c. 37,000 B.C.E. But the real adventure was happening back in Sumer-ville, where the sons of God were still cavorting with the daughters of Man, creating a fair number of half-breeds. There were, of course, the sons of man as well who were still chasing the daughters of man; and all of this was leading to a population explosion.
The inevitable result of too many people led to the next great calamity: i.e. at least a few of them became politicians, complete with pronouncements, etc. In the Sumerian texts, the trials and tribulations of Enlil allegedly caused by Mankind were described in considerable detail:
"The land extended, the people multiplied; In the land like wild bulls they lay. The god got disturbed by their conjugations; The god Enlil heard their pronouncements, and said [to] the great gods: 'Oppressive have become the pronouncements of Mankind; Their conjugations deprive me of sleep'."
Apparently, Enlil just could not handle couldn't (or conjugations in general)! Whereupon he ordered a punishment, but not one of water. His first attempt to decimate Mankind was to call for pestilence and sickness.
"Disease, sickness, plague, and pestilence" then began afflicting mankind and its livestock. It was a real pain in the... actually, virtually every place in the body. Ziusudra, "one who was exceedingly wise," took the case of Mankind to Enki, to enlist the good-guy god in saving the people he had created.
"Enki, O Lord, Mankind groans; the anger of the gods consumes the land. Yet it is thou who hast created us! Let there cease the aches, the dizziness, the chills, the fever!"
The texts do not reveal precisely what Enki's advice was, other than the last phrase: "let there appear in the land." Whatever it was, it worked! And soon Enlil was complaining bitterly that "the people have not diminished; they are more numerous than before!" So Enlil tried starvation, saying:
"Let supplies be cut off from the people; in their bellies, let fruit and vegetables be wanting. Let the rains of the rain god be withheld from above: Below, let the waters not rise from their sources. Let the wind blow and parch the ground; let the clouds thicken, but hold back the downpour."
This dismal state of affairs would continue until cannibalism became the latest gourmet fad. Meanwhile, in other parts of the world, the machinations of Enlil were possibly having other effects.
c. 30,000 B.C.E. Cro-Magnon Man begins cave-painting. The League of Interior Decorators is formed, and the concept of the starving artist is forever implanted in the minds and caves of uncivilized humans. There's nothing like starvation to turn a man's head to art. After all, "art is long, life is short."
c. 28,000 B.C.E. More trouble back in Atlantis. According to Edgar Cayce, this was recorded biblically as the Great Flood, but didn't quite manage to altogether eliminate Atlantis. We will essentially ignore this highly questionable date ("In your dreams, Cayce!" Pardon the pun.), and date the Great Flood as much later.
c. 25,000 B.C.E. Theoretical time for Man's first arrival in the New World. According to this generally accepted, but probably wholly inaccurate theory of modern so-called scholars, "African Homo sapiens sapiens, who had settled in Asia and had evolved into a race known today as "Mongoloid" expanded upward and across the landbridge between Alaska and extreme northeast Asia, establishing the American Indian populations."
Think about this one for a minute: Tribes of men, accompanied ostensibly with women and children (it was going to be hard to beget future generations without the women), all head out across Kamchatka, one of the most desolate, cold and rugged regions on Earth, heading for a New World that they supposedly know nothing about, and for no known reason or motivation to make such a journey. This would make sense if the Enlil-conceived plague and famine were rampant throughout the world, but the mass of unemployed homeless who were only obliquely connected to the civilized world of Anunnaki gods and human slaves, priests and kings were probably not part of the targeted population that Enlil was attempting to eradicate. But then on the other hand, perhaps the New World adventurers were simply running from Enlil.
But while it is plausible that man might have arrived via the land bridge (or the frozen-over Bering Strait), it is unlikely that these same nomads gave birth to the subsequent civilizations in South and Central America. In fact, according to Sitchin, the legends of the Aztecs and Nahuatl seem to suggest that the South American (and later the Central American) civilizations were begun by colonizers who arrived by boat about 15,000 B.C.E., and landed on Cape Santa Helena in Ecuador. This would explain the greater age of the South American civilizations over the Central American ones, and suggest that the newcomers knew where they were going. Yet another theory is that tourists on a Lemurian Love Boat came ashore, thinking they had discovered Giligan's Island.
c. 20,450 B.C.E. Ptah, "a very great god who came forth in the earliest times," becomes the first King of Egypt. This god was a "God of Heaven and Earth," and was considered to be a great engineer and master artificer, undertaking great works of diking and land reclamation (and thus explaining Egypt's nickname, "the raised land"). Ptah's base of operations, according to legend, was on the island of Abu (now called Elephantine because of its shape), and located just above the first cataract of the Nile, at Aswan. Ptah's symbol was the serpent. He and the other gods had come from Ur ("the olden place"). Curiously, the name Ptah has no meaning in Egyptian, but in Semitic, it means "he who fashioned things by carving and opening up." Ptah ruled over Egypt for 9,000 years.
The astute and erudite reader -- who actually knows the meanings of both words -- will probably already have figured out that Ptah is none other than our colleague and friendly god, Enki. After all, Anu had given Africa to Enki (and EuroAsia to Enlil), and Egypt is in Africa. It's also at the doorstep of Enlil's base of operations, just the sort of place one might want if one was planning on giving a younger half-brother a continuing migraine.
Ptah, according to Manetho, began his reign over the lands of the Nile some 17,900 years before Menes, the human king who united Upper and Lower Egypt, the hero of Dynasty Zero of the Egyptian annals, and the king whose time is in some dispute. Most Egyptologists in the trade, for example, date the beginning of Menes' reign to the year 3130 B.C.E. For reasons, which we will discuss in detail in a later Episode, we are dating Menes to have taken the oath of office c. 2550 B.C.E. The latter date will, of course, be proven beyond a reasonable doubt to be the more accurate date and the only one consistent with the later histories of Egypt and the surrounding lands. The difference of 580 years is, incidentally, the subject of much controversy and heated debate -- some of it even rational. And of course, acting on the reader's behalf, the author has sided with the rational and insightful minority. More later; stay tuned. Or take a brief side trip to Immanuel Velikovsky.
c. 18,800 B.C.E. Nibiru is at perihelion, it's closest point of approach to the Sun (and in effect, to the Earth). This event, of course, occurs once every 3600 years or so, has been occurring for the last 4 billion years, and particularly during the time of the Anunnaki's sojourn on Earth for the last half million years or so. As a result Nibiru's arrival in the neighborhood might not appear to be terribly important.
However, one must not discount the effects of a rapidly moving, large planet coming within the inner sanctum of the solar system's terrestrial planets, and the possible effects such a close encounter might entail. In this case, such a close encounter between Nibiru and Earth are beginning to raise doubts about the long term, ice-solid stability of Antarctica. Said doubts may not have yet manifested in the minds of the Anunnaki on this particular pass, but there may have already been some suspicions.
c. 15,608 B.C.E. According to the Codex Vaticano-Latino 3738, written some 14 years after the conquest of Mexico by Cortez (c. A.D. 1519), this is the beginning of the Age of the First Sun. The Codex was compiled after Cortez's victory in order to document the Indian oral traditions. The Age of the First Sun, was also known to the Aztecs as the Age of White Haired Giants, or according to other traditions, the Age of Viracochas (White and Bearded Gods). This First Sun lasted 4,008 years and ended because of a great natural catastrophe, in this case, a deluge!
c. 15,200 B.C.E. Nibiru again reaches perihelion. It is possible that evidence of its potential effects on the Earth might have become known to Enki and the Anunnaki. Even Enlil would likely have been aware of the potential for near-term disaster. In fact, it seems likely that the Anunnaki had become aware that the next near term visit of Nibiru in 11,600 B.C.E. would result in a "deluge" of their lands.
c. 15,000 B.C.E. Kalasasaya is a rectangular enclosure measuring some 450 by 400 feet, located near what is today known as Tiahuanacu, on Lake Titicaca (which is, in turn, located at some 12,500 feet elevation on the border of modern day Peru and Bolivia). Kalasasaya is delineated by a series of vertical stone pillars, arranged in such a way as to form specific angles between the two solstice points. Taking into account the angle of 24o 6' 52.8," along with the geographical position and elevation of the site -- "The Standing Pillars" suggest that Kalasasaya was built circa 15,000 B.C.E. However, on this basis alone, two other dates are equally likely: 10,150 B.C.E. and 4,050 B.C.E., depending upon the curve used in the calculation. We have a choice!
The 15,000 B.C.E. date corresponds to the Andean legends, as the beginning of the Age of the First Sun. "Every version of every legend in the Andes points to Lake Titicaca as the Beginning -- the place where the great god Viracocha performed his creative feats, where mankind reappeared after the Deluge, where the ancestors of the Incas were granted a golden wand with which to establish the Andean Civilization." This date also makes sense if the Anunnaki were aware of the possibility of the coming Deluge, and might have begun establishing a secondary base on high ground, where gold and other metals could be obtained afterwards.
In addition, the great god Viracocha was probably the Sumerian ISH.KUR (or ADAD). The latter name means appropriately "He of the Far Mountains," and it appears that the Andean highlands were given to him by the Anunnaki royalty, just as many other areas of the Earth had been given to other gods. (The Harrapan civilization in India came under the goddess-ship of INANNA, as a second example. Inasmuch as the author has been known to roar about the country with a license plate of the same name -- then obviously, we will hear a bit more on this Great Goddess, a bit later on.)
ISH.KUR was known as the Storm God, and was given many names by many peoples, including: Ramman ("The Thunderer") by the Babylonians and Assyrians, Hadad ("Rolling Echo") by the Western Semites, and Teshub ("Wind Blower") by the Hittites and Cassites. His symbol was the metal tool and forked lightening, the same symbol which appears all over the Andean highlands and most notably as a huge symbol on the side of a mountain near the Bay of Paracas, along Peru's Coast.
Also obvious is the fact that ISH.KUR was into making waves, blowing off steam, and creating all manner of sound and fury -- and potentially signifying nothing! These attributes may have derived from the fact that ISH.KUR was the third and youngest son of ENLIL -- and with the weird hereditary traditions of the Anunnaki, was unlikely to possess the great expectations of his older brothers: NINURTA (first born of ENLIL) or NANNA (aka SIN, the second son of ENLIL, and the heir apparent in the event of NINURTA's untimely death). It is noteworthy that both NANNA (the father of INANNA -- in Anunnaki circles, incest is obviously best) and ISH.KUR were born on Earth (NINURTA was the alien from Nibiru). This might ultimately be significant.
The early date of Kalasasaya also derives from several observations by one of the early explorers of Tiahuanacu, Arthur Posnansky, a European engineer. Posnansky concluded that the first phase of Tiahuanacu was built when the level of Lake Titicaca was about one hundred feet higher, and before the whole area had been engulfed by an avalanche of water (perhaps the Great Flood, or more accurately, the Great Tidal Wave -- which would also leave a great deal of land underwater in its rather substantial wake). Posnansky determined that the city had been settled in three phases, and by two races (one a Mongoloid people, the other a middle eastern Caucasian race -- but at no time by a Negroid people). The first phase may very well have been circa 15,000 B.C.E.
The 10,150 B.C.E. date would make sense, if after the Deluge, or Great Tidal Wave, the Sumerians might have then moved their base of operations to the Andean Highlands. This would be one of the first places to be drained sufficiently to start a new mining operation.
The 4,050 date is more in line with the dates of the megalithic remains in Cuzco and Machu Picchu. An additional connection here is that the Anunnaki may have used in Mesopotamia the twin peaks of Mount Ararat (at 17,000 and 13,000 feet elevation) as a marker for their landing spacecraft, and used certain cities as additional points of reference. According to Sitchin, the same methodology was used in the Andean highlands, with Cuzco and Machu Picchu being two of the reference points. At the same time, however, the first colonization may have been by boat, as in the legends. Even the ores were probably first taken away by sea, the Bay of Paracas being a port just for this purpose.
On the basis of the above, we will be tentatively assuming the 15,000 B.C.E. date.
Incidentally, Lake Titicaca gets its name from one of two islands, where legends relate that the rays of the Sun struck the sacred rock, Titikalla, as soon as the Sun first appeared after the Deluge. The island is therefore, also known as The Island of the Sun. Titi, by the way, is the name for either lead or tin -- and probably not what the readers with lust in their hearts were assuming.
c. 12,000 B.C.E. The Enlil-induced famine of Man had now gone into its seventh "passing" (a "passing" being the time when the planet Nibiru approached perihelion). Enki had not yet taken on the cause of the humans, but it was now time. Perhaps the sight of a starving, disintegrating Mankind with parents eating their own children gnawed at Enki. In any case, it was time for another confrontation between Enki and Enlil. In typically devious fashion -- and to counter a continuation of the evil inflicted by Enlil -- Enki sent a message to all of Mankind to practice the art of disobedience! It was Ghandi at his best!
"Make a loud noise in the land, Send out heralds to command all the people: Do not revere your gods, do not pray to your goddesses."
Not mentioned is the possible suggestion to put "Question Authority" on bumper stickers.
Enki also did some back room negotiating with other elders of the Anunnaki. There was no immediate improvement in the situation, but eventually, Enki's Anunnaki-arm-twisting led to a major confrontation between Enki and Enlil before the Assembly of the Gods. Enlil did a lot of raging, making accusations of Enki's complicity in most every conceivable evil in Enlil's life. Enki defended himself accordingly, but then at one point, "got fed up with the sitting; in the Assembly of the Gods, laughter overcame him." Naturally, this totally enraged Enlil. Pandemonium ensued. But eventually, when things had returned to some semblance of order, Enlil, with the support of Anu, forced Enki into a corner, one in which the very survival of all mankind was at stake.
To accomplish this, Enlil took advantage of the fact that another piece of the puzzle had manifested itself. Sometime, after the decision to develop the deep mines in the Abzu, Enki and the Anunnaki had proceeded to establish a scientific monitoring station at the tip of South Africa. The station had been placed under the direction of Ereshkigal, a grand-daughter of Enlil. Apparently, this assignment had not been accepted without some reservations on the part of Ereshkigal, because Enki had been forced to either abduct or coerce the goddess into making the trip to the far-off mountainland, named KUR. Once there, however, she pretty much settled into a routine of being perpetually in a bad mood -- and is thus believed by modern scholars to have been the creator of PMS.
Unfortunately, in the midst of one of her fouler moods, she gravely (she's the Queen of the Underworld, remember) offended one of the emissaries of Nergal, one of Enki's sons. Nergal took the incident personally and promptly attacked Ereshkigal on her own turf. The Queen of the Underworld then saved her life by offering to marry Nergal and to share with him her station's "Tablets of Wisdom" -- one of the first recorded instances of a dowry being provided to a new bridegroom. There is, however, the hint of politics as the more relevant motivation.
Ereshkigal, a grand-daughter of Enlil, was set up at an important monitoring station at the tip of South Africa, a potentially strategic placement in Enki's part of the world. Enki may have, therefore, contrived to have one of his sons, Nergal, move in on Ereshkigal, in order to keep the control of the station and it's "Tablets of Wisdom" all in the family.
In any case, both Enlil and Enki were now receiving reports on the growing instability in the Antarctica ice cap. After a plethora of ice ages and drought everywhere else, the build up of ice on the southern pole continent had likely become unwieldy and extremely unstable. It seemed just a matter of time, that given the right trigger, the icy instability would move in the direction of a new found stability in another location and in the process swamp the Earth. Keep in mind that this ancient ice cap was likely enormously larger than the current version. The ice cap, circa 11,000 B.C.E. had had tens of thousands of years of ice age to accumulate its massive form, and thus the potential tidal wave it would generate by coming unglued would be equivalent to dropping a continent the size of Australia into the ocean. Thus the potential for devastation was greater than modern scholars might imagine.
In effect, the huge ice cap careening off the continent would cause a world-class tidal wave that would respect no coastline anywhere on the planet. The lowlands of Mesopotamia, Egypt, even the Abzu (because of its proximity), would be inundated with water as a result. Furthermore, the trigger mechanism to destabilize the ice cap could easily be the passage of Nibiru at its perihelion, along with, perhaps, an inauspicious alignment of some of the other planets. Recent perihelion passages of Nibiru might have given some of the first clues to the Anunnaki. It was, therefore, just a matter of time.
Thus, "Resh" and "Nerg" (as they were known to their closer friends -- of which they had none; living at the bottom of Africa not being conducive to a full social life) began to report on the very dangerous situation of the growing instability of the ice cap over Antarctica. The problem was the ice cap rested upon a layer of slippery slush, and thus was likely to slip off the continent and into the ocean. This makes physical sense in that the enormous pressures generated by the incredible weight of the ice would have raised the temperatures at its lower elevations such that they would have melted and turned to slush. Worse yet, Nibiru was due to make its appointed approach into Earth's vicinity in the very near future, and it was predicted that Nibiru's gravitational pull would likely upset the ice cap's balance and cause it to slip catastrophically into the Antarctic Ocean. The immense tidal waves that this would cause would then engulf the world. We're talking a lot of water moving north, very rapidly!
Enlil, ruthless and cunning as always, saw the coming world-class tidal wave as a chance to get rid of Mankind -- sort of make a "clean sweep," or "mop things up." Upon receiving confirming reports from the Igigi orbiting Earth that the catastrophe was indeed virtually guaranteed, Enlil called the Anunnaki to Sippar. At the special Assembly of the Gods, one which was apparently attended by Anu (with the planet Nibiru being relatively close by), Enlil insisted that Mankind be kept unaware of the coming Deluge, and made all of the Anunnaki (and especially Enki) swear to keep the secret! Enki strongly resisted taking the oath, but then found himself forced to do so.
No kidding! The Sumerian texts (notably in a major part of The Epic of Gilgamesh) described in detail how Enlil used the catastrophe of the Deluge to annihilate Mankind, and how Enki, opposed to the decision that Enlil had forced upon the Assembly of the Gods, contrived to save his faithful follower Ziusudra (Noah) by designing for him a submersible vessel that could withstand the coming avalanche of water. Typically, Enlil was the vengeful, wrathful god and Enki was the good god. But how was Enki to warn Ziusudra without violating his oath? No problem.
c. 11,600 B.C.E. Enki, never above clandestine methods when the situation called for them, spoke to Ziusudra from behind a reed screen, having already arranged for Ziusudra to be well within hearing distance. In effect, Enki pretended to speak not to his devout Earthling, but to the wall. At first, Enki's disclosures were cryptic.
"Pay attention to my instructions. On all the habitations, over the cities, a storm will sweep. The destruction of Mankind's seed it will be... This is the final ruling, the word of the Assembly of the gods, the word spoken by Anu, Enlil and Ninhursag."
But then Enki's warning and advice became more strident.
"Man of Shuruppak, son of Ubar-Tutu; Tear down the house, build a ship! Give up possessions, seek thou life! Forswear belongings, keep soul alive! Aboard ship take thou the seed of all living things; That ship thou shalt build -- her dimensions shall be to measure."
The subterfuge of talking to the reed screen explains Enki's later contention, when the survival of Noah/Ziusudra was discovered, that Enki had not broken his oath -- but that the "exceedingly wise" Earthling had found out the secret of the Deluge all by himself, by correctly interpreting the signs. The all-important encounter, however, was accurately depicted in a Sumerian seal (shown below), which shows an attendant holding the screen while Enki, as the serpent god, revealed the secret to Ziusudra.
But Ziusudra, being exceedingly wise, was quick to perceive the need to build a water-borne vessel, but was equally quick to point out, "I have never built a boat... draw for me a design on the ground that I may see." Enki then provided him with precise instructions regarding the boat, its measurements, and its construction. Interestingly, while we might think of the Ark as a very large boat, with decks and superstructures, the biblical term, teba, actually derives from the root "sunken." It appears that Enki instructed Ziusudra to build a submersible boat -- a submarine.
Ziusudra also recognized another problem, the idea of constructing a very original and oddly shaped vessel, abandoning all of his possessions, and so forth, all in broad daylight! People would talk (and, of course, Enlil might listen)! But Enki knew how to handle the citizens of Shuruppak:
"Thou shalt thus speak unto them: 'I have learnt that Enlil is hostile to me, so that I cannot reside in your city, nor set my foot in Enlil's territory. To the Abzu I will therefore go down, to dwell with my Lord Enki."
The excuse was that Ziusudra was building a boat for the intended voyage to the Lower World (southern Africa) to dwell there with his Lord Enki. The Sumerian texts also make it clear that the area at the time was suffering from a drought or famine, and that Ziusudra, on Enki's advice, told the local residents that if Enlil saw him depart, "the land shall [again] have its fill of harvest riches."
This excuse not only made sense to the good people of Shuruppak so that they did not question further, but also motivated them to lend a hand in the construction of the ark. By killing and serving the enlisted workers bullocks and sheep "every day" and by lavishing upon them "must, red wine, oil and white wine," Ziusudra encouraged the workers to work faster. Even children were pressed into service by carrying bitumen for waterproofing. It was as much fun as an old fashioned barn-raising!
"On the seventh day the ship was completed. The launching was very difficult, so they had to shift the floor planks above and below, until two-thirds of the structure had gone into the water" of the Euphrates. Ziusudra quickly took his family and kin aboard, along with "the animals of the field, the wild beasts of the field."
These texts parallel with the Biblical narrative, even down to the seven days of construction. But Ziusudra did one better than Noah: he sneaked aboard all the craftsmen who had helped him build the ship. He also waited for a signal from Enki, before he himself boarded the ark.
"When Utu who orders a trembling at dusk will shower down a rain of eruptions -- board thou the ship, batten up the entrance!"
The prearranged signal was something a bit more practical than Paul Revere's famous lantern trick. The Anunnaki, fully aware of the possibilities of the Deluge, were departing the planet in their rocketships, achieving orbit, and from that vantage point, planning to observe the catastrophe from a safe place. The signal to Ziusudra, then, was the rockets' red glare, the propellent bursting in air, as the Anunnaki left the flag waving and departed the planet.
An interesting aside is that the Sumerian word for Phoenix, the legendary bird that rises from its own flames, is Ben-Bird. The word actually means rocket ship. Thus the Phoenix is a rocket ship. Imagine if you will, a modern day rocket ship taking off for space: An immense amount of fire, smoke and flames, and from its midst, the bird takes flight. I.e. Phoenix Rising.
c. 11,600 B.C.E. (the second month, the sixteenth day of the month) The Anunnaki took a powder (and using it in their rocketships for propellant) lifted off the soon-to-be-watery surroundings of Earth.
c. 11,600 B.C.E. (the second month, the seventeenth day of the month): Everybody into the pool!
********(pause for breath)*********************
Is this the end? Will mankind be swamped with ice cubes from his handy Antarctica ice cube maker? Will Noah -- or Ziusudra, Utnapishtim, or whatever his name is -- get into the Ark in time? Will the vessel survive the onslaught of tidal-wave water? Will all on board get thoroughly sea-sick, with every living creature contributing his own special form of... sea-sick offerings?
And who in the world are the Nefilim? Will this ever be made clear?
Why is it, as Masatoshi Nei has claimed, that "South American Indians show a perplexing closeness to Polynesians?" And inasmuch as it was the Polynesians who crossed the Pacific Ocean, landed on the western coast of South America, and headed inland from there... Why is that perplexing?
What about the island of Elephantine in Egypt? Is there some special significance to this place? Is there the slightest possibility that the author would have raised the question if there were not some special significance?
In the Priest-King fringe benefit employment package... Is there something here of which we could be a bit more explicit? What, for example, would be the difference in fringe benefits (or treatment) between the Priest-Kings and the rank and file so as to have the P-Ks live substantially longer? Why did the P-Ks in succeeding generations (even into A.D. time periods) make such a deal about their status? Were there retirement plans that much better? As incredibly fantastic, for example, as members of the United States Congress!!!!?
And now that we know who Ptah is, who were Shu, Geb, and Maat; and what did all of these four have in common?
To answer these and other questions, forge on to the next Episode!

Personal Position:
I've come to realize that 'truth' boils down to what we 'believe' the facts we've gathered point to. We only 'know' what we've 'experienced' firsthand. Everything else - what we read, what we watch, what we hear - is what someone else's gathered facts point to and 'they' 'believe' is 'truth', so that 'truth' seems to change in direct proportion to newly gathered facts divided by applied plausibility. Though I believe there is 'truth', until someone representing the celestial realm visibly appears and presents the heavenly records of Facts And Lies In The Order They Happened, I can't know for sure exactly what "the whole truth' on any given subject is, and what applies to me applies to everyone. Until then I'll continue to ask, "what does The Urantia Book say on the subject?"

Urantia Book, 44:0.11 - The Celestial Artisans
Never in your long ascendancy will you lose the power to recognize your associates of former existences. Always, as you ascend inward in the scale of life, will you retain the ability to recognize and fraternize with the fellow beings of your previous and lower levels of experience. Each new translation or resurrection will add one more group of spirit beings to your vision range without in the least depriving you of the ability to recognize your friends and fellows of former estates.

Urantia Book, 117:4.14 - The Finite God
And here is mystery: The more closely man approaches God through love, the greater the reality -- actuality -- of that man. The more man withdraws from God, the more nearly he approaches nonreality -- cessation of existence. When man consecrates his will to the doing of the Father's will, when man gives God all that he has, then does God make that man more than he is.

"And do you not remember that I said to you once before that, if you had your spiritual eyes anointed, you would then see the heavens opened and behold the angels of God ascending and descending? It is by the ministry of the angels that one world may be kept in touch with other worlds, for have I not repeatedly told you that I have other sheep not of this fold?"

Urantia Book, Foreword - 0:12.12 - The Trinities
But we know that there dwells within the human mind a fragment of God, and that there sojourns with the human soul the Spirit of Truth; and we further know that these spirit forces conspire to enable material man to grasp the reality of spiritual values and to comprehend the philosophy of universe meanings. But even more certainly we know that these spirits of the Divine Presence are able to assist man in the spiritual appropriation of all truth contributory to the enhancement of the ever-progressing reality of personal religious experience—God-consciousness.

Urantia Book, 1:4.3 - The Mystery Of God
When you are through down here, when your course has been run in temporary form on earth, when your trial trip in the flesh is finished, when the dust that composes the mortal tabernacle "returns to the earth whence it came"; then, it is revealed, the indwelling "Spirit shall return to God who gave it." There sojourns within each moral being of this planet a fragment of God, a part and parcel of divinity. It is not yet yours by right of possession, but it is designedly intended to be one with you if you survive the mortal existence.
-
Urantia Book, 1:4.1 - The Mystery Of God
And the greatest of all the unfathomable mysteries of God is the phenomenon of the divine indwelling of mortal minds. The manner in which the Universal Father sojourns with the creatures of time is the most profound of all universe mysteries; the divine presence in the mind of man is the mystery of mysteries.
-
Urantia Book, 1:4.6 - The Mystery Of God
To every spirit being and to every mortal creature in every sphere and on every world of the universe of universes, the Universal Father reveals all of his gracious and divine self that can be discerned or comprehended by such spirit beings and by such mortal creatures. God is no respecter of persons, either spiritual or material. The divine presence which any child of the universe enjoys at any given moment is limited only by the capacity of such a creature to receive and to discern the spirit actualities of the supermaterial world.
-
Urantia Book, 11:0.1 - The Eternal Isle Of Paradise
Paradise is the eternal center of the universe of universes and the abiding place of the Universal Father, the Eternal Son, the Infinite Spirit, and their divine co-ordinates and associates. This central Isle is the most gigantic organized body of cosmic reality in all the master universe. Paradise is a material sphere as well as a spiritual abode. All of the intelligent creation of the Universal Father is domiciled on material abodes; hence must the absolute controlling center also be material, literal. And again it should be reiterated that spirit things and spiritual beings are real.

Urantia Book, 54:1.6 - True And False Liberty
True liberty is the associate of genuine self-respect; false liberty is the consort of self-admiration. True liberty is the fruit of self-control; false liberty, the assumption of self-assertion. Self-control leads to altruistic service; self-admiration tends towards the exploitation of others for the selfish aggrandizement of such a mistaken individual as is willing to sacrifice righteous attainment for the sake of possessing unjust power over his fellow beings.
-
Urantia Book, 54:1.9 - True And False Liberty
How dare the self-willed creature encroach upon the rights of his fellows in the name of personal liberty when the Supreme Rulers of the universe stand back in merciful respect for these prerogatives of will and potentials of personality! No being, in the exercise of his supposed personal liberty, has a right to deprive any other being of those privileges of existence conferred by the Creators and duly respected by all their loyal associates, subordinates, and subjects.
-
Urantia Book, 54:1.8 - True And False Liberty
There is no error greater than that species of self-deception which leads intelligent beings to crave the exercise of power over other beings for the purpose of depriving these persons of their natural liberties. The golden rule of human fairness cries out against all such fraud, unfairness, selfishness, and unrighteousness.
